While it is said that gratitude is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself, acceptance of your life’s reality is quite possibly the greatest gifts of them all. This was a lesson that I found to be one of the most difficult after my series of seizures in 2012, but became easier to realize after my three brain surgeries in 2013. I started to see that in order to move forward, and in order for me to come to terms with all that life has thrown at me, I would need to make the promise to accept all that I am, all that I have, and all that I was given.
We were all given just one life, and we were given this one life, and all of the beautiful messes that fall into that life for a reason. Why choose to fight them? Why focus on all of the things that cannot be changed? Instead, focus your energy on what can be changed, choose to flow with life instead of fight with it, and accept all that you have and all that you were given.
Make yourself the promise today to accept all of your reality, and love all that you are on the inside and out. Look in the mirror and acknowledge all of your imperfections, and know that you were made that way for a reason. Know deep down that you are unique, and unique, and possibly a little weird, but that’s okay, be these two things make you who you are, and you are Awesome.
Keep on keeping on,
